Naked in Mayfair is a modern exploration of love, sex ,relationships and the female psyche .
As a single mother and successful career woman we watch Ava begin to negotiate being a sexy single female in the city of a London. On the surface it would appear she has it all, gorgeous children, an address in one of London’s most coveted and sought after postcodes and a high flying career in the competitive world of finance. But Ava craves the one thing her life is missing , a soul mate to connect with and share a deep and loving relationship
We follow her as she navigates the modern world of dating, with all its ups and downs and the emotional rollercoaster she experiences on her hunt for true, meaningful love.
I had a love hate relationship with Ava she made some truly dubious decisions that had me soooo frustrated but as I moved through her story I got so much pleasure from her evolution and watching her transform finally into a strong woman realised her worth, and who accepted she was enough regardless of her relationship status.
Naked in Mayfair is a no hold bars look at love, lust and sexuality, I adored the London setting and the scandalous opulent world of London’s high society. The story weaves a web of deception, sex , money and of course the power these possess through the storyline and made for a dividing and entertaining read.
LWe learnt at Ava is a strong woman, In control of her life choices and her body, and that she was free of any hang ups and able to enjoy sex in a positive life affirming way. So this helped me to enjoy the spicy x rated scenes that made this story so fun. It was also thought provoking in the sense that it raised valid questions about the balance between romance sex, work and family, bringing us back to that age old question can a woman really have it all?
In its essence Naked in Mayfair when stripped back ( excuse the pun 😂) is ultimately a journey of self discovery. I would sum it up as a mildly erotic romance book with an ending not unlike most romances and the sex positivity was empowering for female readers.
I was thoroughly entertained whilst reading this well written story.
