MY THOUGHTS

MY RATING

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Someone you know is a well written and engaging who dunnit. It lacked the usual shocks and twists and although the slow build was intentional, as the author cleverly dropped red herrings and breadcrumb clues, it’s pace is slightly calmer and steadier than the usual fast paced, high octane vibe you do associate with many commercial thrillers . I would sum it up as a tense family drama mashed with the mystery of a whodunnit and I found it completely, entertaining and heart wrenching. I couldn’t put it down.

It was well, plotted and the storyline modern, it also brought up some thoughtful subjects Cleverly portraying how the media can point the finger and how innocent people can be vilified by the press. Showing through the vulnerable character of The elderly neighbour, how people can misunderstood and how unchecked the media attention can allow society to decide they are guilty well before that is proven so and that even when found innocent, that the thrown mud sticks and lives are ruined.

I can’t say that this book completely wowed me or floored me in anyway but the characters were relatable and well developed, the prose descriptive and flowing and I truly enjoyed every page.

For me it was a solid 4 star read and one I would highly recommend.
