I am thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for the incredible Annie’s lovely choir by the sea.. @bookouture #AnniesLovelyChoirByTheSea follow the blog by checking our banner for whose blogging about this amazing book next..

When twenty-nine-year-old Annie Trebarwith receives an unexpected letter from a great-aunt she’s never known, she leaves her shoebox-sized flat in London and catches a train to the rugged Cornish coast.

Salt Bay is beautiful and Annie begins to kindle a bond with her great-aunt Alice. Even though there is zero phone signal and the locals – including the gorgeous but brooding Josh Pasco – can be decidedly grumpy at times, Annie starts to feel at home in Salt Bay.

Soon Annie’s love of music leads her to relaunch the Salt Bay Choral Society, and she’s surprised to see how just much the choir means to the community – and she even starts to break through Josh’s surly exterior…

But London is calling Annie back, and she has to make a decision. Give up her old life completely, or leave Salt Bay, her new-found family – and the choir – behind?

About the author

Liz began her writing career as a journalist for newspapers and magazines before moving into the health sector as a communications manager and press officer. The low point of her career was abandoning an interview with Cliff Richard after two questions because she was about to faint – her excuse is that she was newly pregnant at the time.

Liz is from Gloucestershire but now lives by the sea in West Sussex with her husband and grown-up daughter. She spends a lot of time meaning to meditate, avoiding exercise, and missing her son who lives in London.

Firstly  I would like to thank Bookouture and netgalley for my advanced reader copy… And secondly I would like to say please, please, please don’t like me be put off of by the mention of singing and choirs aren’t your bag, this is very much a background thread of what turned out to be one of the most glorious reads I’ve enjoyed for a very long time.

The cover is just gorgeous…gorgeous uplifts colors and imagery and one that would have had be reaching with grabby hands at the bookshop or naughtily clicking the buy with one click on Amazon 🙈🙈. So the cover and the synopsis worked perfectly for me… So I was thrilled to discover what was between the pages was just as perfect!

Liz’s style of writing is warm and engaging, and within a few paragraphs ( like always) I know whether the book will  be one I can’t keep my hands off or one that I can take or leave… Annie’s Lovely choir by the sea had me laughing right off the bat and it drew me in like a great big Cosy hug. I engaged with the settings and the character immediately and knew I was going to love it!

I wasn’t wrong.. This book is so gorgeously written, and a fabulous read from start to finish. In fact Liz Eeles has gone from an author who was off my radar to one of my new favorites ( How could I have missed her!!) I can’t wait for book number two in the Salt Bay series.

If like me, you’re a sucker for a lovely  seaside setting then this books for you, it’s a story filled with discovering long lost relatives and family secrets with an electric host of characters who although aren’t all likeable are all well drawn and add so much to the story! Annie makes for a very likeable, engaging protagonist who you can relate to and and is someone I definitely can’t wait to join in another story. It’s the perfect balance of easy humor which made me smile or laugh on so many occasions and more serious subjects.  I highly recommend this as a lovely read. Whether on holiday and looking for something fun and entertaining or another title for a bedtime read I highly recommend this for so many reasons. I absolutely loved it and gorged on it like a delicious cream cake devoured it in one sitting and was sad when it was finished!
