MY BOOK SHELF THIS WEEK…
OK so you must all know now i am a complete and utter book addict, I have recently invested in a Kindle Fire and I have fallen completely , head over heels in love with it ( Ssssh don’t tell my husband he is competing with an electronic device for my affection!)
Ive always been a die hard physical book devotee but lifestyle means that I had to find something more lightweight and easier to carry and now I spend too much time downloading new titles, but I just can’t help myself!!
So Im also a HUGE criminal/psychological/domestic thriller fan, I just can’t get enough of books that chill me to the bone, scare the bahjeebies out of me or simply twist and turn this way and that keeping me engrossed until something so mind boggling is revealed that I choke on my culpa… HOWEVER…
I do love other genres, and after murderous psychopaths, Gangland criminal and sociopathic stalker, i felt it was time for a bit of light relief and downloaded some fab titles both from Amazon and Netgalley…So here is my low down of my 7 newly downloaded titles…Reviews coming soon
1.MISS MARY’S BOOK OF DREAM
By SOPHIE NICHOLLS
Ella runs Happily Ever After, a bookshop nestled in the cobbled streets of York.
She’s a wife, a mother and a successful novelist. But something is missing . . .
One day a strange girl comes into Ella’s shop. Bryony is shy and unsure, and Ella feels a strange connection to her.
With the help of one very special book – and a little touch of magic – can these women help each other find the fairy tale endings they’ve been searching for?
WHY IT APPEALED TO ME…I Have owned shops and coffee shops since I left university so I love reading books set in shops, and bookshops especially as I love reading. I think this will be a gentle, easy to read book that I will be able to relate to and I look forward to relaxing in a deep hot bath and becoming engrossed in this.
2.A WEDDING IN ITALY
By TILLY TENNANT
Sun, spaghetti and sparkling prosecco. When it comes to finding love, there’s no place like Rome…
Kate is living the dream with her gorgeous boyfriend Alessandro in his native city, but the reality is sometimes a little less romantic than she’d hoped. Every day in her new home is a fight against leaking pipes, her cantankerous landlord and her less-than-perfect grasp of the Italian lingo.
All around her there is talk of weddings, but when a secret from her past is thrust out into the open, Kate must fight to prove to Alessandro’s Mamma – and the rest of his formidable family – that she truly is Italian marriage material.
With the women in Alessandro’s life on a mission to break them apart, the cracks begin to show and Kate starts to question if Alessandro really is the man of her dreams. Can love and the city of romance conquer all, or is that just a fairy-tale?
WHY IT APPEALED TO ME…
Firstly I fell for the beautiful front cover and I love, love, love Italy and I love food and errrm, Prosecco, this sounds like a good fun read and a great little bit of escapism from the still pretty cold British weather.

By HOLLY HEPBURN
The little picturehouse by the sea is the Palace at Polwhipple – a lovely art deco cinema, nestled in front of azure Cornish seas. The sunshine doesn’t reach every corner of number 24, however. Elderly Mavis, tucked away in the basement, has kept the world at bay for decades. She’s about to find out that she can’t hide forever.
WHY IT APPEALED TO ME:
Again Im a very visual person and so the first thing I notice is the cover, if the design and title appeal to me it means Im much more likel;y to pick it up, flip it over and read the back page blurb. This was definably the case here, the synopsis sounded intriguing and so I decided to add it to my crazily tall TBR pile!
